General Age Relaxation Rules in Pakistan (2026)

In Pakistan, the standard upper age limit for most federal and provincial civil service posts is 28 to 30 years. However, the government provides a "General Age Relaxation," which is currently:

• General Relaxation: A standard 5-year relaxation is usually granted across the board, effectively moving the upper limit to 33 or 35 years for most federal posts (e.g., FIA, FBR, or Ministry jobs).
• Sindh Government Special Policy: As of 2025-2026, the Sindh government has adjusted age limits to a maximum of 33 years for many departments to streamline recruitment.
• Scheduled Castes & Buddhist Community: Candidates from these backgrounds often receive a 3-year relaxation.
• Government Servants: Those with at least 2 years of continuous service can often apply up to the age of 45 (with a 10-year relaxation).
• Armed Forces Personnel: Retired officials are typically granted a relaxation equal to the number of years served in the forces or 15 years, whichever is less.
• Disabled Persons: A 10-year age relaxation is generally applicable for various provincial and federal posts upon providing a disability certificate.
