Chief Minister IT
Internship Program 2026
The Chief Minister IT Internship Program 2nd Cohort is now open — one of the most significant government-backed IT career development initiatives in Pakistan’s history. Launched by the Government of Punjab and implemented through the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), this program places fresh IT and CS graduates at leading IT companies across Punjab for a 5-month paid internship with a monthly stipend of 50,000 PKR. The 1st Cohort received an overwhelming response, and the 2nd Cohort is now open for registrations.
The CM IT Internship Program addresses one of the most persistent challenges for Pakistani IT graduates — the experience gap. Fresh graduates often struggle to secure their first job because employers want experience, but no one gives them a chance to get it. This program solves exactly that problem by placing graduates directly inside working IT environments, letting them contribute to real projects, build professional relationships, and develop the portfolio they need to launch their careers.
To be eligible, graduates must hold an IT, Computer Science, or relevant degree completed within the last 4 years, possess a valid CNIC and Punjab domicile, and have their degree HEC verified for stipend disbursement. The program is managed entirely online — register at cmitinterns.punjab.gov.pk to apply. For queries call 042-99000000 Ext 1925, 1908, or 1207.

🧮 Degree Age Check — 4-Year Window
Your degree completion date must fall within the last 4 years from todayThe 1st Cohort received an overwhelming response. 2nd Cohort seats at top IT companies will fill up fast. Register immediately — do not wait for your friends to apply first or a deadline you may not be aware of.
The stipend of 50,000 PKR per month requires an HEC verified degree. If your degree is not yet attested, start the HEC attestation process immediately — it can take 2-4 weeks and may delay your stipend without it.
Mention your programming languages, frameworks, GitHub profile, university projects, and any certifications (AWS, Google, Cisco, etc.) clearly. IT companies shortlist candidates based on technical skills — your CV must speak their language.
After registering, monitor your email inbox and spam folder for placement notifications from PITB and host IT companies. Also log in to the portal regularly to track your application status and any additional requirements.
When registering, specify your preferred IT domain accurately — web development, mobile apps, data science, cybersecurity, cloud, etc. A mismatch between your skills and domain preference reduces your placement chances significantly.
The stipend is performance-based — which means your monthly 50,000 PKR can be reduced or withheld for poor performance. Treat the 5-month internship as seriously as a full-time job. Many host companies convert outstanding interns to permanent staff.
Use the 5 months to build genuine professional relationships with your supervisors, team leads, and company directors. A strong professional reference from a leading Punjab IT company is worth more than the stipend for long-term career growth.
Punjab domicile is a hard requirement — not a preference. Ensure your domicile certificate is current and valid before registering. An expired or incorrect domicile will disqualify your application during document verification.
