Directorate General of Archaeology Punjab Jobs 2026 offer a rare and prestigious opportunity for heritage conservation specialists, horticulture professionals, procurement experts, and tourism development practitioners to serve at the heart of Punjab’s most ambitious cultural revamping initiative. The Directorate General of Archaeology, under the Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Department, Government of Punjab, is establishing a Program Management Unit (PMU) for the ADP Project — “Establishment of Program Management Unit (PMU) for Punjab Tourism Rehabilitation and Revamping Projects.”
This PMU is the nerve centre of Punjab’s plan to rehabilitate, restore, and revamp its vast network of archaeological sites, heritage monuments, museums, and tourism destinations. The Government of Punjab is seeking qualified and experienced professionals on a contractual basis to fill 5 posts across 4 specialised roles — spanning conservation engineering, landscape horticulture, procurement management, and tourism development strategy.
These are not routine government posts. The roles are technically demanding, project-specific, and aimed at delivering measurable outcomes for Punjab’s tourism and heritage sector. These appointments are temporary in nature, non-transferable, non-pensionable, and job/post specific. They confer no right for regularization. Salary is on a lump-sum basis including all allowances with an annual increment of 4% in Project Pay Scale.

Yes. Prior NOC (No Objection Certificate) is required for all government servants and semi-government servants who wish to apply for these posts. Failing to attach a valid NOC will result in automatic rejection of the application.
PhD or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture from an HEC recognized university is required. The candidate must be registered with PEC or PCATP. Minimum 10 years experience is required for PhD holders and 15 years for Master’s degree holders — specifically in conservation, restoration, or heritage-based construction projects.
Age limits vary by post: Chief Conservationist Built Heritage (PPS-11) — up to 65 years; Horticulture Expert (PPS-08) — up to 40 years; Procurement Officer (PPS-08) — up to 40 years; Tourism Development Specialist (PPS-08) — up to 45 years. Age is calculated as per Punjab government rules on the last date — 22-05-2026.
